Rum Cake!

Ingredients

Cake Ingredients

  • 1 Box Yellow Cake Mix
  • 1 Small Vanilla Instant Pudding
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1/2 cup Crisco Oil
  • 1/2 cup 80 proof dark rum
  • 1 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Glaze Ingredients

  • 1/4 lb butter
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup dark rum

Instructions

Cake Instructions

  • Mix all ingredients together
  • Put mixture in greased tube pan and bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour
  • Take 2 long pieces of foil long enough to wrap around cake on a cake plate.
  • Put cake on foil and with toothpicks punch holes in cake and drizzle on until it is all absorbed

Glaze Instructions

  • In a sauce pan mix butter, water, and sugar, heat to boil stirring until sugar melts (Do Not Burn).  Remove from heat and add rum - drizzle on cake!
