Spiced Cake Donuts

A random recipe find with a Meg twist!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup condensed milk
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp shortening
  • Glaze:
  • 1 cup confectioners sugar
  • 2 tbsp HOT water

Instructions

  • ) Preheat oven to 325 degrees
  • ) Lightly grease a donut pan
  • ) In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt. Stir in both milks, eggs, vanilla and shortening. Beat together until well blended.
  • ) Fill each donut cup approx 3/4 full.
  • ) Bake 8 to 10 minutes until donuts spring back when touched. Allow to cool slightly before removing from pan.
  • ) To make glaze, blend confectioners sugar and hot water in a small bowl.
  • ) Dip donuts in the glaze when serving
